Sharing your story can be intimidating. Opening up to the world, not knowing who will read and listen to your words, living in the fear of the unknown, can stop you from making the difference you have been called to. My automatic thoughts when I go to write, can tend to be ‘What if and what will they say?’ Often, we can be scared into thinking negatively about vulnerability because of the judgments and hatred we have already experienced in our lives. We don’t want to share because we have already felt alone in this world and rejected; we don’t want to go through it again.
In life, we associate our past experiences with the possibility of what our future could look like. We say to ourselves: ‘This happened before so this will most likely occur now.’ The reality of this thinking is that life is full of possibilities. Yes, the possibility of failing or not achieving the results you desired, could happen. On the other hand, the possibility of successfully creating what you have imagined is also a result that can come out of your opening up and sharing your heart. By letting go and letting God work through you and in you, in the process, success will come.
Miracles have happened when connections occur. Blessings pour out when partnering and saying yes to God. Don’t focus on the possibility of what could or could not happen. Focus your eyes on God, on his promises over your life. Keep your focus on his heart for you. Let him speak through you. Allow him to work through you, to bring forth healing, miracles, and blessings to those whom you encounter.
Your message, your story, can only come through you. No one else has experienced what you have. No one else has overcome what you have overcome. Share with the world how God has impacted your life. How God has healed your heart. How God has brought you out of sin and into his loving arms, so full of grace and abundance!
Yesterday, I heard the song Mercy by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music. Even though I have heard this song before, yesterday, it was different. It struck a chord in my heart as I could feel the words penetrating through:
I’m living proof
Of what the mercy of God can do
If you knew me then, you’d believe me now
You turned my whole life upside down
Took the old and He made it new
That’s just what the mercy of God can do
Now I’m alive to tell the story
How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy
And the power of His blood
I’m so glad that my freedom
Wasn’t based on what I’ve done
But the goodness and mercy
And the power of the blood
So much power in the blood
God has brought me through so many storms, so many ups and downs. He has cleansed me of so many sins and will not stop doing so. My life and your life, are evidence of how great our God is! How he has set us free! No more shame! No more guilt! Say yes to what God wants to do through you. Let His glory shine through your story! Show this broken world how God has impacted and changed your life. Be the difference. Partner with God, no matter how crazy, no matter how inconceivable it may appear. God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine! (Ephesians 3:20)
God is madly in love with you!
